To be honest with you, I think shipping it wouldn't be worth the money because of the freight charge unless I order tens of thousand of feeders. I don't think it's worth if I'm only going to order about 1,000 or so.. Unless the socal people group together and buy 10,000+ feeders lol. I might prefer locally if I'm only getting about 1,000..

fyi breeding guppies is about 3-4 months from birth to adult sized snack

Do you have any fishing bait stores around your area? I go to local bait shops and buy minnows by the pound. A pound of 2-3'' minnows is supposed to be 28-30 dozen. Or 360 feeders for 15 bucks. I have never counted them but it is alot of fish. I keep mine in a 55g with a 20g sump and a 800gph pump. And as they get low in the tank the bio starts to die off so when i go to dump in the next batch i get a cycle all over again. Which means alot of dead feeders and twice daily 75% water changes as i try to keep the ammonia down. I have found it is alot better to keep a rotating amount in the feeder tank. For example I use 3 dozen a week. So every 2 weeks I buy 6dz. And that keeps the tank cycled and disease causeing stress from the ammonia down as well. And minnows by the dozen around here are 1.35. So its alot more expensive but alot less work in the end.

I know this is slightly irrelevant but I just wanted to thank you for this tip. I just called a local bait shop and you just saved me loads of cash. He gave me the exact price you posted, $15 per pound. I told him to get me 2 pounds in on Friday. Now to setup another feeder tank, I doubt my 29g I currently use for feeders will work for 600+ minnows.

So for all you others, don't be scared to call your local bait stores. You might be able to save some cash. Depending exactly how many come in my 2lbs I am figured my cost will be about 1/2 what I pay now.
