+2 for filament barbs. Very underrated, but let them mature and they look awesome

Anostomus anostomus are a good choice. Very active buggers. Mine are about 6 inches right now.

i have seen lemon barbs in LFS,not sure of the max size on them....i always wanted to try some big T-barbs(spanner barb).i have 4 filament barbs growing out now, very fast and look good.

I also had rainbows. Not the bosemani but the Australian. They were beautiful. A good size and very active. They were great in my Dempsey breeding tank. But when I added them to the display w the jag they lasted about a week. It's funny cause there were 7 in the school and one disappeared each night for a week. I just want something more colorful than the dollars with a different body shape and swimming habits. My silver dollars more or less just float unless disturbed.

I got a couple tinfoil barbs, Friendly fellas. They clean up well too!

roseline sharks, congo tetras, bleeding heart tetras. just to name a few. and they school pretty good.

I use sds in one tank and Puntius denisonii in another.

I have a Freddy in with the roselines but I wouldn't trust my jag with them.
