Large schooling help!!!

I would like to keep around 5 fish. Not a huge school but something to fill the top and middle section of the tank. And possibly add some color. Also if larger accommodations are needed they will be met. The only reason i need big is because if they are small they will get eaten by my other fish.

Rainbows would do the job but they grow pretty slow...
