Large tankmates for rays

Geophagus,Satanoperca and Heros are generally a very safe bet,Geophagus Brasiliensis "can" be somewhat aggressive so this species is best avoided....other sp should be fine.G.altifrons is possibly the largest of the genus so is very popular with ray keepers because theres less chance of predation once the rays becomes mature.

do not do cichlids... they are a agressive fish and will harm the rays.. Please, for the ray's, do not do cichlids....

Apparently my cichlids are confused...perhaps I should tell them they need to start attacking my rays.

Personally, I think its all depends on tank size. None of my fish bother my rays.

Lovely fish SpeshulEd :) I currently have 7 bichir's in my ray tank ,oscar, datnoides campbelli
l190 plec and tin foil barbs and so far the only problem is the larger polypterus lapredei when eating accident bit the rays disc but no damage was done as once it realised it wasnt food let go. I'll eventually endu up with a pair of rays and 1 or two other fish. I have Midas growing out in another tank and they're in with other fish they're only agressive to each other.
