I am curious to see who here does large water changes of 50% or more a week at one time. Or who has done even larger water changes with no ill effects to there fish.

I do 50% water changes to 5 of my tanks. 220g is on a drip system that does 2gph that calculates 336g changed per week. This set up moves water constantly but I need this type of water movement due to my feeding schedule and my fish are growing like weeds. The 220 has the nitrate reading of 10ppm or less since the drip system has been set up.

old tank water is useless!

What about transporting a fish to water of a different source? Would bringing old tank water benefit in any way? OR would acclimation serve the purpose?

you went from talking about 100% water changes in the other thread to 50% here
100% water changes may work occasionally but you will always be running a higher chance of shocking your fish because of the difference in water chemistry test your tap water and tank water the ph is normally pretty different

Where's the 99% water change option, that you were saying is fine in your other thread? I do 50% changes every week.

So, given your total lack of ability to find any evidence to support your position, you have decided to post a flawed poll based on public opinion?

Your poll is wrong. A better one would be..."Who feels that doing 99% water changes is good for your fish?" or something similar.

I guess you didnt read all the options? I figured since you were doing 50% and you were right, that 51% or more would be wrong and shock your fish so I lumped it all together in the same poll.
