They grow really fast up to about 12-15 inches, then length growth slows and they start putting on weight. My LMB are in a outside pond and they will grow 4-5 inches a year or more till they reach that size then about 2-3 inches after. Also, females grow much faster than males, their growth is less likely to slow so much.
The bass I've had in tanks have never gotten huge, maybe 14-16 inches.

Thanks! The peacock bass i have do similar,they shoot to 15" then slow down.
