this current picture was in a 18'' wide 55 gallon,
I bought from a walmart back in 2002,
I would love to see some more massive guys.

Loshmitchell101 that is a BEAUTIFUL pleco. Very impressive. My sailfin plec is only about a year old and is 9.5" long. I tried to get a pic of him to post on the thread but he is hiding deep in this massive tube/cave I put in for him tonight. So ill snap a shot of him soon to show off my brute

The largest I've seen in person was about 26" (no pics, I didn't own a camera back then), but I don't think I've ever owned one larger than the size of my current gibby (16").

I've seen a pic somewhere on the internet (it may have been here, but I don't remember for sure) of a common that was supposedly 30".

Over the summer one our LFS had a 20'' he was selling for 39.99
Normally over a foot they go for around 15-20.
Are commons plecos the largest overall?

Acanthicus adonis are the largest. just about 3' SL.
