Largest dovii in private aquaria?

Biggest ive ever seen in person was my buddies. It died this past summer. It was going on 5 years old, easy 2ft long and super thick!!! Very sad to see the big guy go. It was in 210 by him self. We think he may have broke his spine in the middle of the night running into the glass. Buddy found him in the morning sitting on the bottom struggling to breathe. He never did get pics of it when he took it out and I never got to see it the day he took him out either. Miss that big dude!

seems this threads been going for a while and none of these in tanks look over 22inch to me.... some jags hit that dont they??? the fishing video had a monster towards the end maybe near the 24 inch, them mexicans could be 4foot tall though lol? i believe the max size of fish is trusted to much, im not saying its impossible. fish are like people some get bigger than others, them fish over 22inch are few and far between and ive come to realise people and myself look at fish in a tank and estimate way over their actual size, just putting a tape measure up to the glass will most likely show your 12inch being more like 8 or 9 inch in reality. it annoyes me when people knock people down for getting a dovii and putting it in their 180, these fish do occassionally get freakishly large but once they hit 20inch the growth is sooooo slow right. we need someone to do a documented growth thread from fry to 22inch plus, i doubt most of these monsters on here have been grown by that owner from young? so my question is how long does it take for these fish to get to these monstrous sizes? i wanna see a genuine 24inch plus fish against a tape measure... come on people!
