My biggest is a 35. The reason why people around here don't have large tanks like you guys is that I think you can get them cheaper then here. The pet store wants over 1000$ for a 180gallon tank. I am looking out for something along the lines of a 75-90 gallon as my next tank. I need to buy it used that size because their to expensive.

keeper of chunga what is your avatar a picture of? Some primeval monster?

It is a Frilled Shark. Photographed in the Sea of Japan earlier in 2007. Supposed to be extinct - but a diver caught one swimming in the ocean and got some footage. Very strange looking shark.

Wish I had a tank large enough for one of those - I guess when I win the lottery and open my own aquarium (you all would be invited of course for the pre-opening bash!) I will have a tank large enough for one. lol

Sorry for the exclusion of some of the tank sizes!!!

Just wanted to get an idea of ther size of tanks people are working with - and the reason why this is in the South American/Central American cichlid post is simply for this reason - sa/ca cichlids, there is no substitute.

I have a 75 gallon tank which is the largest I have owned (so far). I would love to get into the larger tank sizes but right now I live in an upstairs apartment and the 75 is about as big as I would want in order to get it back down the stairs. Hopefully will be in a house soon (the US house market is about to smile again on home buyers with good credit!).

Someone else here said that the larger tanks were expensive - I hear that. My 75 gallon cost me close to $1,000 just for the set up. I am not poor but also by no means wealthy...But one day last March my girlfriend said to me as I was staring longingly at the baby oscars following my finger along the glass, "Just buy it. You know you've wanted one for years. It's only $8.99."

Famous last words...

At least she understands. She keeps small saltwater tanks with seahorses.

New guy here, I have a 300 gal that I'm resealing, 2-135's, 1-110, 2-55's 1-46 gal bow front, 3-30gal. This is nothing compared to what some folks have here. Glad to be part of ]V[ONSTERFISHKEEPRS. Awesome site.

850 gal for now, but got my sights set on a 2000.

As I thought. My biggest tanks are on the small side for this sit,I have 3 125g tanks.Needed a few more categories for this poll

125 is my largest, which is nothing compared to all of the monster tanks on here...

I own three fish tanks at the moment. A dry 55g and 10g in my basement and my 125g up and running at my parents'. My Dad has it stocked w/ natives.
