x2 on the convicts. I have a pair in a 55 and they havent spawned yet.
I've have them for a few months now and their colors are immaculate!

do something larger and more interesting than convicts.(so many people breed them that they're used as feeders) i think that you could easily fit a pair of several different kinds of cichlids that max out art 12" in a tank that size.

green terror, jack dempsey, black belt, chocolate, salvini

or maybe even trimac, or something from the amphiliphus genus. those are a little more aggressive though

You can definitely keep one of each together in there but I wouldn't do a pair of each. A pair of either/or would work though. I'd even go for a pair of RTM or Freddies...just got my first RTMs a few days ago and I love them.
