Is a celocanth a type of lungfish?

Great question, and no, they are not.

The (possibly) two known species of coelacanth are the only other living Sarcopterygian (lobe-finned) fishes aside from lungfish (and technically the tetrapods; birds and reptiles, mammals, amphibians). The two groups diverged in the early Devonian (~400 million years ago). They are not that closely related, but tend to get lumped together because they are the only representatives of a once diverse class of vertebrates.

I think there might be actually 3 coelacanths now...

Walking into multiple Lungs is my fiancee's nightmare, she thinks poor Chompers in disgusting..... no appreciation for a very special speciman of fish.:screwy:

give us a pic of ur lungfish smoking!:) haha! kidding! cmon man, wanna see that collection! it would be easy to say that you have a helluva collection just by saying that u have 30++ or whatever.. but it's the proof that counts! thats the only way we can validate how huge ur collection really is and thus answering the main question of ur post. the main point of this thread...:)
