I think that its cool that you have such a large collection but was this thread started purely to brag???? Like Li says I could order one bag own more than double your collection... enough talk lets see some pics of these things I cant wait to see how you have them all housed it must take a bit of time to care for all of them I like your dedication

It definitely wasn't a bragging thread. I honestly was interested to see if anyone else had such a collection. You see, my aim is to encourage conservation and hopefully captive breeding.
As for getting a bag full - are you talking about the $3 African imports? Isn't shipping exorbitant getting them over here?

this is a good point about housing...given that some are quite small right now, and therefore in small tanks...how do you plan on housing 30+ individuals of lungfishes when pretty much none of them can safely be kept with conspecifics or even other species for very long?

i'm not saying it's not possible to house this many, but let's face it, annectens, aethiopicus, and SALs need a lot of space within just a year or two. you going with stock tanks, or is this collection going to be dwindling down once the 'poor college student' effect really takes place (trust me, been there...and it continues as a grad student ;)) --

you can get several small SAL's for relatively cheap...and if you have good connections with some importers, you can get any of the African species for cheaper (exception being P. amphibius).

it's good that your overall aim is to encourage conservation (that should generally be an aim for anyone in the hobby to some extent), but keep in mind the numbers of lungfishes kept are meaningless without proper information or experience coming out of it. anyone can buy a bunch of lungfishes given the proper resources...heck, if you had the $$ you could buy the AUL farm :naughty: --
