largest piraiba on the forum?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Video is not available. I am nervous about switching the paraiba into my 210g which currently houses a 15" female rio tapajos moramota pike, 17" Ornate Bichir 17"-18" Marbled Achara Cat, 13"-14" Occel Cichla, 9" shortbody peru mono, 9" female red kamfa flowerhorn. I had an 12" albino longfin red tiger oscar in there but had a serious problem of dominance in the tank betweeen the pike and the oscar causing me to down-grade the oscar into my planted 75g which is very small for him I would love to upgrade to a 125 but I dont think I can do it at this time financially so the oscar may be fs in the near future if he doesnt back off the paraiba and the pike. Do you think I will run into any problems with the paraiba and any of the other tankmates other than the oscar?

the achara may be aggressive to it. mine has been a little toward some channel cats. will have to see how it does with my other big cats.

I put him in the 210 tonight and he got struck by the large pbass and it tore off his streamer which sucks it will take about 45-60 days for him to grow the streamer back. I am going to leave him in there for a little while to see if it will work. Im going to watch the little monster for a few hours to make sure they dont eat him.

5" in ~a year - I think that's about average keepers report. Appears way too slow for a cat that can reach 9'. I wonder if the growth rate is also as slow in the wild.

a LFS by me has 2 for sale but they are small maybe around 3"
