I was told the red snakhead is the largest. is this true?

Giant Snakehead or Toman or Channa micropeltes. This is one of the largest of all Channa species. But all the books put Bullseye Snakehead (Channa marulius) at the top... reaching a length of 120-122 cm This species is reported to be the largest of the family Channidae:D

Yeh i agree in a way, as C marulius does grow to greater length than the toman, but C marulias does not have the bulk of toman. From what ive seen C marulius is a longer slender fish, check this link for some record s/h's in thailand ;)

Wow, ''philipine snakehead'' looks like a hybrid of channa micropeltes & channa marulias.
Head was like giant snake, body was like channa marulias.
