Last Batch of Rapps Kelberi...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The kelberis must have costed more than his orinos have recently.

I hope they're saying that the gold around the bars is similar to orino, not that they think they are orinos.

mine are getting a lot of red on the back fin at the bottom

That's a sexy shot right there.

Don't get me wrong, for the price either an Orino or a Kelberi would be more than fair. Just that I had enough orino already... We shall see. They are still young, but they look the same as the batch I grew out from 1" fry.

Once I get my lap top back I will post a pic of mine.

I hope they turn out to be kelberi's.. actually, I would not doubt Rapps.

They do look better and better everyday though. :)

look at those spangles..... impressive. Did you pay extra?? Why yours have more spangles than mine. :irked:

It might be just my black background or my lights.. but I am also experimenting with something new. So far so good.

I'm willing bet if you were to put this batch of kelberi's in your new tank they would look similar.

Young Kelberi are very deceiving as I have found out. For the longest time mine looked nothing like your typical Kelberi that you see. But recently he is blooming quite nicely and starting to show all the signs of what he is. Kelberi. Gotta be patient with them, they grow at easily half the rate that my other cichla do, and didnt really start to show typical Kelberi markings untill around 8". I got mine out of the first Rapps batch at 4".

There were several fairly heated debates as to whether or not they were Kelberi or not, I can vouch 100% that the first batch is.

Can we see a picture? :naughty:

i got two from rapps last batch but mine doesn't have the spangles.

I am pretty sure the last batch is kelberi. I am starting to see some dots developing on the anal fin. I will post a picture when it develops more so I can catch it in a picture, but they are definitely developing nicely.

I have 2 from Rapp's last batch. Mine are really showing a lot of yellow and red, but not showing any signs of orino markings. I'll try to get pics up...
