so my 12" leichardti is looking good, like it wants another shot with the big boys in the 300g- it had got pretty hammered a week or two ago- so I fed all the arowanas and was going out to feed the big silver in the pond, when it hit me- put the silver in when I put the lei in! even if its temporary, because the silver is in the pond for DE repair- in the 300 I had three arowanas, a 19" black, a 18" black, and a 13" aro- and I was putting in a 26" silver, and a 12" lei-
the first 45 minutes not one mouth opened, not one bit of aggression, the next 45 minutes very mild circling, flexing, and nipping- then the daylights went off and the night lights came on and still nothing- but Ill be keeping a close watch, with spare tanks and pond ready
my pictures suck like always- its hard with a point and shoot to catch one arowana, let alone five!

thanks- I dont think Ill be satisfied as long as the silver is in there- Id rather have him in my DE pond therapy- I do have one more lei... but at 5", not just yet-

Very nice good luck it will be awsome if it works out. What are you doing for drop eye therapy, I'm curious? My silver has one eye that dropped It doesn't bother me but if there is something that may work besides that floating ping pong ball trick I'd like to try it

Good luck! Will be trying something similar with some smaller aros when my 300g gets delivered.

out of these 5, two of them I got at 2 1/2", and both of them have murdered other aros- so the small ones can be killers too-
the african was the first of the murders

thanks- all DE therapy is I put them in the backyard pond for usually 6 weeks for one mild eye- but this silver had both eyes pointing almost inward- it sounds crazy, but they were so dropped you could barely see his pupils- he couldnt even see next to him, and now hes starting to see floating pellets, after maybe 6 weeks- but he still has a long way to go

LookinGood:thumbsup:

Good luck with both the community and the DE therapy.

Thanks brian- check out your "am I overstocked" thread I put a picture of one of my possibly overstocked arowana tanks-

we all knew it was too good to be true, even I knew- nothing to serious, but the aggressor was quickly getting aggressive, and the lei was cowering already- what a homo- but this time instead of taking out my effeminate leichardti, I took out the one giving the lei a hard time, and of course the big silver went back out to the pond- after making 2 detours, the first was to the couch, and the second, was to the floor(same jump, two landings) - so heres the aros that are left in the 300g

I know they still need alot of work, but I think the pics look a bit better than the first ones in this thread, this time I tried a metal halide lamp above the tank
