"wild" I just a term use by the farm to show levels of their crossback.

Cheers, thought that would be the case given the CITES status of true wild asian aros!


And of course there are wild forms of red and gold aros (as wella s green), they are actually considered different species; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scleropages
(yeah I know, it's wikipedia, but it gives a good simple breakdown of the different colours/species)

I would say loosely considered. :) only because of the whole importation side of it. Regardless they all arrive scleropages Formosus.

Ha, same deal here, the biosecurity people don't seem to keep up with the ever-changing taxonomy so we get a lot of imports arriving under old names (the genus Cichliasoma still covers almost all central american cichlids!).


They're considered different species, from a a scientific sense at least....
