Was wondering, the LFS sell lava rock and the home/garden stores sell them also. What is the difference or is there a difference?. The home/garden stores will sell lava rock for very cheap and the LFS will charge a lot for one heavy rock.

no difference at all really just make sure only to use the red lava rock but thats just to be on the safe side because i think there is a colored lava rock thats for decoration. but going to a home garden store, lowes,home depot, etc would be the way to go.
You guys know lava rock is an old school bio media? Doesnt have a ton of surface area, but it works.
