I am moving in a week and will have to tear down my 55Gal Planted Tank for the move.
In my tank I have Java ferns, Java Moss, Assorted swords, and some micro swords, and as a substrate At the moment I have about 20 to 30lbs of pure Eco Complete as substrate.
My problem is that is seems that not all plants root well in the eco Complete (Fox tails, crypts and others)and i have been reading about using " Super Soil" as a bottom layer and topping off with sand and all sorts of other semmingly cool ideas. Would this work under Eco COmplete? or will the nutrients all leach into the water and fowl things up? or is the super soil thing over kill?
