Each individual pleco has its own personality. I dont think plecos should be in a tank for just cleaning purposes. ;)

:iagree: too

I have 1 male bristlenose that is always hiding, I never see him unless I drop a slice of zuccini or some wafers in the tank. I have another albino female bristlenose and she is the most active pleco ive ever had. She is all over the tank and never stops moving. I guess it all depends on the fish itself not the species.

i didnt say that i dont feed them! the small one wont move to eat so he eats when he wants to and that is mainly algae. the bigger one get waffers....flakes....brine shrimp and blood worms. i use my syphon tube to allow the food to sink to the bottom and not get eaten by the others.

and my plecos arent just for clean up....that is a good reason to have them but the are beautiful fish also.

i was just stating that some plecos dont clean anything and others go crazy and clean everything!

DONT PICK ON ME!!!!!!!!!!

I have kept royals, commons, rubberlip and otocinclus and they all cleaned algae very well. I had a clown pleco once who did nothing except hide all day and beat up other fish in the night. He didn't eat algae.

my sis gave me her lazy pleco a salfin and my albino salfin use to fight him and it was the only time the reg salfin did anything with alagae but all my pleco got a 3'royal eat like the rest of my fish come to the top and eat
