well i think it looks great! my only suggestion is the pieces of wood. i would either take them out or get some thicker pieces. i think theyre too thin for the aquascape. but i love your rock placement

thats what my mom thought too lol. I am considering taking them out, I'll decide that when I see it with all the plants put in.

Added the 16" high output, along with DIY C02.
I couldn't be happier with the result.
breakdown w/ prices:
6 gal broken Fluval Edge (just the bottom part): $10
Red Sea nano filter: Free at garage sale.
Catalina Aquarium 16" 4 bulb fixture $70
DIY C02: $2.50
C02 Diffuser: $7.50
Plants (dwarf baby tears and micro swords): $16
Sand: Free
Rocks: Free
total:$106 not including fish.
not bad IMO ;)

The taller rock is too far to the right. I'm losing the left end. When designing an aquascape, always step back and look at the tank. Just look at the tank, and let your eye go where it will. Are you seeing the whole tank? Is your eye trying to focus on multiple things, but cannot? Is your eye jumping back and forth? Is your eye getting distracted? Is your tank showing its depth as well as length?

These will help with getting a good aquascape. The smaller rocks will get taken over, and will not be seen well when the baby tears grow in. I would switch them out for taller rocks, or turn them upward more.

I see what you're saying but I took all that into consideration:) The finished product is exactly what I was going for as far as flow of design and relation to plants. The pics don't really do it justice, I have to stress that.

looking great!
