Thanks for the advice everyone and the real life experience with them. I'm just going to keep him solo for now, but I'll throw in some more driftwood tonight to get him more comfortable. I want to get this guy monster size. As for the Id, that's what he was sold as. I'm a pleco noob just keep what I like. Anyhow thanks for the advice.

It's all about the spots and hide aways. Some plecos in the wild will borrow through the river bank creating they're own tunnel or nook and will guard it fiercely. Usual seems to be softer substrate like clay that they have ease moving around.
