I have a Rapids Mini Canister filter that a bought that has a drip leak coming from the section that the hoses and motor is on. I ended up getting sent another one for free so I have one great one. I want to put the other filter on another tank but am not 100% how to fix.

I was told i could use some kind of putty to fix it, and seal the top part of the filter better? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

does it have an o-ring that you can replace? I am not familiar with these canisters.

You could JB Weld it, but that would be a permanent fix.

uncle toms? i got one. try to replace the o-ring. any pics?

I am assuming its Uncle Tom's. I do see TOM on the box. I guess i could try to replace the o ring. I was thinking i could try a putty fix.
I will try to find an O ring i guess.

pics of the leak would be good! its a good filter. got one for my 20 antique

The filter isnt set up at the moment. The leak comes from around the area where you clip one side to the bottom. It happens on one side but its just a very slow drip. I didnt think it was a big deal, but came back 4 hours later and half of my tank was on my desk.

yeah that could be a prob. lol. u mod urs at all?

i set it up and noticed the leak. I ordered from Drfostersmith.com. I called them, told them my problem and they sent my another one free of charge. i thought it was pretty awesome. I just want to try to get this leaking one working so I could have two filters.

yeah that would be good. there are some mods out there to help out with effiecincey

Maybe I am ignorent but how can a mod fix my leak?
