I've fixed a cracked AC with silicone and it's holding to this day, but if i would have had an epoxy on hand, that definitely seems like the way to go.

Cracks are fairly common on AC filters because of the construction. A quick bead of super glue actully works the best because it penetrates the crack. Once the glue's dry it's safe to fill back up and run. Sylicone will work in a pinch but it's flexable and won't stop the crack from continuing to grow. Epoxy is good but it won't penetrate the crack the way a cryoacryllic will.
