Leaky canister filter

new canister from rena costs 80 bucks.
 
Seller got back to me, he's giving me a half refund since I'm going to keep the filter - the motor works so I'm hoping I can find someone who is selling just the canister part itself.

Think this is repairable? Maybe some aquarium sealant in the crack then some on the inside with something stronger on the outside?
