You could add a chiller for the comets for now and eventually move it to a sea horse tank after you build the comets a nice pond out back lol. Mosquito control! Sea horses even like the larva.

Just keep up the water changes and you should be OK. Just keep an eye on the parameters.

You're not going to have to worry about the comets for terribly long. With that high of a temp (they're cold water fish) their metabolism will shoot through the roof and they'll get super huge super fast and then die (I've seen it happens with "serious" fish keepers that don't know much and let their kids pick out fish).

And if they don't... sounds like you have good reason to build a pond!

The comets were moved to a 70*, 20 gal bowfront that sits in my sons room. Them fish do nothing for me.

So, are the JDs your ultimate fish? Or you have something else that you're moving towards? I think everybody has a dream fish to keep... just that some people on MFK can actually make that a reality...
