lol i bet the chorguard is just a ST solution :D

im gonna give this stuff a try.. i usually use prime..
I believe it is. Seachem is very helpful I recommend contacting them as I have never used chlor guard. I cant vouch for it the way I can with prime which ive used for about 10 years now. Ever since the brown bottle.

I think its a great competitor in the cheapest conditioner department but please everyone take note it only removes chlorine and NOT chloramine.

Hybrid Theory - Prime also gets cheaper when purchased in bulk, about .15 cents per gallon… It doesn’t get anywhere near as cheap as your reference…

Prime does hold a bit of an advantage of “binding” ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and a small handful of other claimed advantages… The link you provided doesn’t give any details of any such advantages…

I’m by no means criticizing the product you linked us to, simply pointing out some differences… The users will have to decide if these differences are worth the cost…

Feel free to be the one to research that topic and fault me if it’s not. I couldn’t get anywhere with it beyond manufacturers claims… Which I also encourage you to second guess…

yes Sodium thiosulfate does not get rid heavy metals, bind ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, turn your water into gold, etc, etc.

It also does not support any other myths etheir.

Just joking around but I don't get into all the marketing hype about aquarium products. Just like your thread about bio media.

All it takes is a few simple rules to follow and your tank set up will out perform the other guys set up that has alot more money thrown at it.

I use two ways:
Sodium thiosulfate or just time.

Yes, in a pinch I like to fill a container and toss airstones in it over night. Does the trick and keeps it cheap.

It should be noted that the airstone method works for chlorine but not chloramine.

boil your water first. Then add less of that stuff like prime.

You'll spend more in gas/electricity boiling the water than I will on Prime :-S

Not to mention the additional effort involved...
