Lord knows I don't need to get into a scuffle with that Oscar rights activist who's bound to find this thread soon and explain why it's IMPOSSIBLE to hate the "original wet pet".

I was thinking about him when I posted. I almost made a disclaimer but then decided I didn't care what he thinks.

We don't hate them....they're our (least) FAVORITE

I think oscars are the most abused cichlid in the hobby and I think that gives them a bad rap. way too many oscars in terrible conditions. not trying to start anything cause theyre arent my favorite fish either

Anything that gets a really massive obnoxious hump on the head.

That look just does not do it for me.

Me and my buddy both took our red devils/flowerhorns back because they started to develop a hump....at least donated them to his aunt..

Dovii, nothing against the fish but tire of wasting time reading post where knuckleheads suggest them regardless of tank size or tank mates

geos - some of them are stunning (i.e. g. pellegrini) but there's just something about em that puts me off. no idea what it might be.

and this:

Some humps can look rather nice, but those deformed golf ball-like growths are nasty (flowerhorn, i'm looking at you!)

EDIT: also those parrot hybrids that look like their mom mated with Frankenstein, and african cichlids in general just don't do it for me.

another one for me would be ornatum. very pretty fish but grpw so slow and dont breed in aquariums so far and theyre just kinda lame

Umm first off you came all the way to the cichlid forum, found this one thread, just to say you don't like all cichlids? Says a lot about you.

And second if you think bichirs are more interesting than cichlids than you probably think guppies and platies are "fun intresting" fish too lol.
