Leaves for Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use oak, and it looks great... doesn't do much as far as tannins go... only thing that sucks is they do eventually (like after 3 weeks) disintegrate and get stuck on my intakes..

Yeah, it has the effect of driftwood; tannins, lower PH, etc. The effect on PH will be dependent on how good your buffering capacity is. I've used the indian almond leaves and regular oak tree leaves. Gives it a nice, natural, blackwater look.
What's your KH? If your have a decent buffering capacity you could add an entire tree and your PH won't budge.

You can't see me right now but I am standing up clapping that someone else gets this... :headbang2

cali what is the fish in your avatar??

Parachromis motaguense. "red tiger mota", RTM etc.. and one sexy female at that!

Central American. Found along the Atlantic slope of Guatemala and Honduras (in the Motagua River basin) as well as along the Pacific slope of Guatemala and Honduras from Rio Naranjo River to Rio Choluteca. My google'fu is strong ;)
