Does anyone have leaves in their tank I have 2 Zebra spiny eels and since they come from swamps Id like to add leaves do I add dead leaves or fresh. Thanks

ebay sells some kind of leaves for fish, never tried, but i guess they are good for a lot of fish

I've heard of some shrimp keepers adding dried oak and peach leaves for food. The shrimp eat them as they decompose. They release some tannin into the water too. Not sure on the benefit for Eels.

Indian almond leaves are cheap and even free for those in Asia or where it is native from but very expensive in other parts of the world. An alternative to that would be oak leaves. They must be dead already in order to be used in your tanks. Replace the leaves every week or two or they'll fall apart in your tank.

Thanks would the leaves not just break down and be good for the plants.:)
