Leaving for a week.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What type of fish are we even talking about? The OP didn't mention, except to say "cichlids". If we're talking mouth brooding cichlids, the females do not eat for well over 2 weeks. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT feed them. THEY WILL NOT STARVE. Far less can go wrong if you simply leaves the lights off, and let the week pass, enjoying your vacation.

No plans to have them fed over the week after listening to everyone’s advice. I’m confident they’ll all be good lol.

Convict cichlids btw. My male in a 75 with 5 swordtails. The female in a 30g by herself. That’s the entire stocking for those two tanks.

Last tank is a 10g with endlers. That tank I only feed once in a while to begin with. It’s heavily planted with plenty of algae and detritus for them to pick at. That tank could probably go a couple weeks without food if needed.

Wanted to follow up and thank everyone for all the advice that was given. Got back to NJ late last night, immediately went to bed lmao. When I turned on all the tanks this morning I saw that everything seems perfectly fine, which is great.

Going to catch up on waterchanges the next week or two. Today I did a quick 40-ish percent w/c and was curious to see where nitrates were at in the 75. Actually surprised to see that nitrates were no higher than 10ppm. I was expecting higher tbh.

I’ll make a thread at some point highlighting the trip. One of the best weeks in recent memory 😊.
