hi everyone

Thought I would stop being a lurker and post up what has been keeping me busy for the last few months.

OK first off I ordered a 100 x 30 x 30 and black satin stand.

Then I did a crapload of reasearch on LED lighting and commenced building my own.

OK here is the hardware to produce 5160 minimum lumens at half max current(60w) and 9009 lumens at max current 11.2A (120w).

OK here is a pic of the aluminium profile that has been powdercoated and cut to size.
Have yet to clean up the 45degree edges and drill and bolt together.
Once that is done I will begin soldering all the components together, then glue them into the channel.
I have a set of 20mm optics to go on lastly too.

Looking good. Your pictures must not do the light intensity justice, nearly 10,000 lumens seems like it ought to be blinding.

A big thankyou to Paul at Morley Aquariums who constructed the tank and worked with me closely.
Thanks Paul for recommending your cabinet supplier, extremely nice finish indeed.
Ran a tube behind the textured background to run airlines through.

wow thats an incredible setup!

hi,
great setup.. with the leds..
can we get a break down on supplies ..if we wanted to make 1...
thanks

chaps, I used Cree MCE LEDs from Cutter electronics nad also got the drivers through them.
They are in 4P or all parallel config then 3 in series running 10.6V then they are all in parallel to the power supply. Drivers are all in 2.8Amp mode.

I anly run it usually on setting 3 of 8. After setting 6 the gains between increments are smaller.

Glad you like it.

Big thanks to my GF who put up with a months mess in the living area!!
