Im currently using current satellite plus lights.

They're ok just not great.

Can anyone recommend a good full spectrum LED light. I was looking into Viparspectra leds and would appreciate hearing from anyone that has 1st hand experience.

I haven’t tried that brand, but I like beamswork full spectrum. I have them on all my tanks. I like them a lot.

Are they customizable? The satellites are but there are way more white leds so turning the brightness up kind of washes out the colored LEDs.

The ones I have aren’t. It sure if they make ones that are adjustable.
They have two modes. All leds on or just blue “night light”.
They can be hooked up to a timer. I have one, but never bother using it.

I bought the 165w for my saltwater tank, and I works really great for coral and coral growth. The timer, and controls were very user friendly. The only thing that stopped me from using it on my freshwater tanks are that the light is very direct out of the box. So even for my 4’ tank I would have needed at least 2 to fully cover the tank in light.

I found the beamswork to be too bright for my tank. Almost too harsh. I’ve seen the pictures of your tanks MrsE88 and my lights didn’t look that nice on my tank. They almost had a yellow hue to them.

They do look different on every tank. Not sure if it’s mostly dependent on how the tank is scaped...?
I did want more subdued lighting on the 6’ tank so it has a 4’ light. My other tanks the lights are as long as the tank the light is on.

Check out mars aqua to. They have 165w and 300w just like the viparspec's but a tad cheaper. They have a dial instead of digital percentages.

If you can hold off mine are on the way and I'll show you anything you want. You'll need a hanger for them but for $225 you can't beat them.

Now as far as cheap knockoffs go I like viva grow 24/7's. They work great and have tons of adjustments. They are like finnex 24/7.

Here's one on a vivariums. They're good for 24" H visual wise but wouldnt trust to grow decent light plants at that depth
