Here's a pic of the 10w LED floodlamp over my 57g tank, just to give you an idea. Tank dimensions are 36x18x21. Keep in mind this is the 3000k light. The dingbats at the company like to give people the wrong color, even when they specify they want white, not sure what that is all about :screwy: The correct color is on its way.

Video will be posted in a few minutes

I like it. It gives it a black water look. I don't know if I'd want that all the time or not. But I think it looks good on that tank with those fish. They dhipped mine today but I probably wont get them until next tuesday or wednesday :irked:

I'm thinking part of the problem with the marineland double brights is poeple want different things. For me they look great on a 8x2. But maybe I don't like my tanks as bright as others. The stadium lighting comment made me think of this.

But do you think you could grow plants under the doublebrights????

Just a note, the 40deg lenses don't focus 100% of the light in the 40deg. Rather, they focus 50% of the light in the 40%. So, a 40deg is brightest in the 40deg, but it isn't a crisp line that is lit vs not lit.

I get my LED warehouse floods tomorrow, I hope to have lots of pic's up by wednesday...if they sent the right color.

I went to a high end light bulb only store today. The owner and I spoke at length about the new tech. He told me to wait. He said the bulbs last but the electronics do not. The spotlights out there do not hold color well and do not last. He had very similar fixtures to the ones Artyfish bought.....he has had many high end stores use the lighting despite the cost only to return the lights when they did not perform. The new LED tubes are even worse. Buyer beware!!!!!!!

Yeah the technology is going to drastically improve over the next couple of years. It's already made leaps and bonds in the past year. I replaced some recess lgihting in my hallway this weekend with 6.5w leds from Lowes. and WOW! Twice the light as the 40w they replaced. A year ago Home Depot didn't even sell led blubs just junk fixtures and the blubs I found else where were worthless.
