Hey Cali Budfish I was just at Ledwholesalers actual store in Burlingame to see those $40 225 led fixtures and they are crap. Not bright at all. I too was planning to make my own fixtures to save money on electricty. When I was there the guy showed me these 10 by 10 fixtures

OMG that panel was so freakin bright. It produced such a bright nice white glow. He said those panels were used for professional photographing light. But the cost $155 each but well worth it for bright quality LED light.
I bought these

spot light and wow are they bright for just 10 watt usage. I got a total of six and mounted them all thought out my aquarium. They cost $30 each and were well worth it. Remember I went to their company and saw in person all they had to offer and I chose which one I felt were the best deal for the best light.. DO NOT buy those $40 225 LED cheapo panels. Even the guy who works there said they are low quality inferior light and does not recommend them at all. I think he was the owner!

I'm not crazy about those reds either. The light in the link only has LED moon lights. From the title, they looked like a really good deal. For the money, you can get six blue/white panels, or four blue/white and four all whites. That should light you up pretty well.

any pictures of those spot light LED on your tank?

wow i guess if the guy that works there says they're crap than they must be...now i'm interested in those spotlights and what the coverage works out to per light...any pics?
