I have done some searching on this forum and others and am having trouble finding any info on what people are using to light their larger tanks. I know I have seen people mention using LEDs pendants, but I haven't found one that is reasonably priced and look good enough to pass the wife test.

i bought two chandeliers that each hold three bulbs. i then bought par38 led bulbs and hung them over the tank fairly close to the hood. i will try to post a pic later

i got some chinese junk ones on ebay. they had great color but a very short lifespan. i have replaced them with home depot and walmart cheepies since i am not growing plants. i hope to get some better ones for improved coloration like i had before

I bought this from Ebay, at very good price.

Another one I bought is submersible tube that I tied with fish line in the front rim. It is dimmer but provides front lighting that I can't get from overhead light. When you research for the light, check for the lumin rating to assure you get enough brightness. It costs to return if you purchase from Ebay and don't like it.

All my tanks are lighted with cheap China made LED from Ebay. I have no problem with any of them, and the oldest ones are 3 years old, still shining.
