Definitly a great kids movie...and adults too... i loved babe and did you see the parrot movie Paulie.... so cute...snappy would be great movie staring Dan and how he wrote to MFK... and we all supported him.... very educational...and we would all be known.... lol

Sounds like you've got it all worked out, Liz! Are you working on the screenplay yet? :)

I got the official letter a couple days ago, now all I have to do is mark him for ID purposes. I need to make notches in specific spots on his shell with a triangular file, I'll take some pix.

Thanks again for all the kind sentiments, I think this is what MFK is all about!

Snapping turtles grow big and fast and they eat all they can and eat things they should not, like Oregons wildlife when they are allowed to live in our state water. I have enjoyed a snapping turtle myself. Good luck on the permit.

Very true, they are especially hard on our native turtles, both as competitors and predators.

I did get the permit, the biologists at the ODFW were actually very helpful once they realized my intentions to use Snappy to help spread the word about invasive species.

Congratz dan i myself lived in salem and my grandparents used to live in silverton/staton area and my grandma taught at the highschool but now moved to lyons

getting a permit for anything is a hassle. I use to have a common snapper, but he just crawled on the basking dock and died one day.

I must have missed this Dan when I was on holiday, but I am indeed glad that snappy is in the process of being able to stay at the school. It has restored a minute amount of faith in the system again!
