behind my iMac.... Southampton UK.
a friend just asked me and i didnt want to give the wrong answer so would lego be safe to use inside a tank?

I wouldnt just encase a fish decided to attack it and broke it into pieces, it may try and eat one of the pieces...

I imagine so. parents trust them to go (inevitably) into kids mouths. they are made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic. should be nontoxic and inert.

I think they float, though.

I have some old lego pirate ships, that I was thinking would be kind of cool, but my RD would totally plunder that ship. it would quickly become ruins. Would end up with lego pieces floating on the surface.

would probably be alright with less aggressive/room rearranging species.

so its doable but need to all be siliconed together n to tank base???
yeah, I'd silicone each piece together to keep them from being broken apart, and find a way to secure it to the base.

build your structure, put it in the water, and hold it upside down for a while so the air escapes, then you can sink it and it doesn't hurt anything. Did it all the time when I was a kid.

I think it would look kind of stupid, but I don't it would hurt anything.

Interesting idea, could be siliconed together and mounted on slate or something similar and buried under substrate, pictures sure would be interesting
