It's really the only way you'll be able to find out if the combo works. It's just that way with aros, took me three different times to get a pair withsilver aros. I just hope that I am able to put my two silver with my black here in a couple months once the new tank arrives.

i would love a shoal of 5 blacks. ive always wanted a lei but i have kept a jardini and it was the meanest mother f'er in the tank!!! he used to kik the crap outta everyone in there even some buttikoferi!!! i dont want the lei to rip up my rays!!!

There's no answer to the question....You just have to do it and see what happens.

It would work only if you try it :D Just watch them, but I say it would work.

I currently and for the last 3 months have had a 11"-12" black with a 6"-7" lei- they have alot of disagreements but no fights- I did get them at the same time so the 1st thing for you to do when introducing the lei is rearrange EVERYTHING so the black doesnt recognize it. 1 other thing I had going for me is I had a shoal of chalceus that were the same size as the lei(the lei has always been way more agro than the far bigger black) those pinktails took alot of heat off the black Its going good but not great because at any time there is always a ripped fin or a missing scale from 1 of them- which also explains the empty but running spare tank that I keep going just in case they finally get enough of each other. Gooood luck your gonna need it!

I had a Black Aro established in a tank and added a Jardini and as the Jardini got bigger he just harassed the Black aro all the time. Since a Jardini is pretty much the same as a lei I wouldn't recommend it as your Black will look like crap from all the stress. Stick with a Black or if your tank is big enough get some more. I have 4 Blacks in my 450 gallon and they do fine together.

I think you'll be fine, I got a 8" lei, 12" black, 12" silver. They get along just fine, so don't stress yourself out man. They're also housed with a 3" loach, 3" royal pleco, 8" tire track eel, and three 2-3" moba fronts.
