Good point! Give it time and the aro will break out of it. My lei is still skittish but during feeding time he'll take off my fingers. I got bitten like 10 times before I learned. If you want a killer fish then you can train your lei to eat feeders. After awhile he'll be really aggressive. If that fails then buy a jardini.
why would i sell john my lei? he got rid of all his aros...
oddly enough, i want to grow the lei i have to a good size and see the fruits of my labor. i guess i'm weird like that. that fish does hold a bit of sentimental value... first leichardti. we'll see. and i do suppose that my timid lei would work out in my future aro/discus planted tank...
don't lose hope, aussie aros(jars/leis) are generally known to be skittish when young, however it must be said that there are exceptions to the rule, like the more aggressive ones, so i guess you can say there will always be some leis that are either, very skittsh to moderately extra skittish, plain skittish, slightly skittish, and the aggressive mofo's
