Leiarins Pictus

Sweet pickup. That's one of my favorite cats. I've only seen two in my lifetime and unfortunately I didn't have a large enough tank at the time.

I cannot find any really credible info on this fish other than the fact that it grows to more than 2ft. in the wild! I have seen several members with this fish in the 18-21 inch range in their aqauriums. Based on Leiarius longibarbis which it is most closely related to I would say that it's growth rate would be less than that of other larger pimelodid catfish such as the RTC or TSN. I would hope that someone who has kept this beautiful fish would speak up on it's growth rate, but it's probably less than 1 inch per month during the first year! The growth rate will be considerably higher in smaller fish. I would say after it hits the 10-12 inch mark it will slow to less than 1 inch per month, and maybe much less than that. Does anyone else have other info on this fish?
Thanks very much for the info. I shall monitor its growth rate and keep u guys update:)

NP, I expect to see many more pics of him as he grows huge! ;)
