Love them. I'll have to see if I can't get the LFS to get one in for me again since i have the rtc hybrid version already. I think the barbells and color pattern are the best thing about them other than their appetite!

Agreed!! They really look fantastic when those barbels sweeping all over the tank and that sailfin dorsal in full display.

A perruno is different from these guys. One of the keys of identifying the two is the number of rays in the dorsal fin. How many does your guy have? Do you have pics of him?

Glad to see someone else pays attention to identifying features of different species of fish. Many people own fish that are a different species than what they think they own. A little research goes a long way to keep your fish happy!

I'll definitely take that as a complement from the man himself. :D

i'm still trying to figure out why everyone calls L. longibarbus P. perruno. guess it's because they're harder to find thus worth more.

I'm sure a lot has to do with people not doing the proper research too. The two cats do look fairly similar, thus easy to pawn off as a misrepresented version of a true P. perruno.

I love my L. longibarbis, but I would be pretty upset if I paid a P. perruno price for a $30 L. longibarbis.
