cool. yeah, i just got back from picking it up. I wish it was a little smaller right now, but it'll be fine. The only fish I need to move is my 4.5" flagtail. I don't have my camera right now, but i'll try n get pix up tomorrow evening.

It's barbels are completely in tact and very long, but it's dorsal has a split in it. I'm sure it'll heal quickly. My LSN that it's going in with losing its barbels all the time. I'm glad I picked it up.
I did :D

pix tomorrow

AND FOR THE LAST TIME, I'M TALKING L. pictus, NOT P. pictus :D a.k.a. sailfin pim

Damn thing thinks it's a bichir  It likes to lay on the bichir pile. I removed the 4.5" flagtail. There is one more fish that I'm worried about. It's a buetti bichir that's about 1.5" or so smaller. Should I worry about it? I know the cat's mouth is big enough to fit it in. I've never had one so IDK if they're anywhere near like RTC's. My bigger bichirs could eat it, too but they've been together for months.

My gar managed to get in the net when I was taking the flagtail out and tried to swim through the hole between the net and the handle. It wasn't in far, so I pulled it out fine and then it swam right back in :irked:....almost to the point where I had to push it the whole way through. It's scales didn't come off where it went through, but they didn't look good. It should heal within a day, though.

My Pictus ate one of my 8" Xingu Pikes. I would not trust it with any Bichirs in fact I moved my pictus to my pond to protect the Bichirs. Then the Pictus got killed by a convict...........He choked on it.......

what size was your pictus? You think it would eat a 13" congicus if it's only 9.5"?

My 15" L. pictus is quite aggressive and often tries to eat my 6" red hooks if I miss a meal. I think if you keep your pictus well fed you probably won't have to worry about the bichirs, but with these guys you never can tell.

My Pictus was around 12-14". I would never have thought he could take the pike as there were 3 and they were always swimming together. Mine was a huge pig and would eat everything he could so much in fact he could not lay flat on the bottom due to his belly. My friend I got him from had him with smaller fish with no problems so there is no way to guess their behavior. It could happen so you have to weight the options based on the worst case scenario. My Bichirs always stayed hidden under the driftwood so if they have lots of hiding spots it would be better.

I just got my 2nd Marbled Pim and he is tiny so in a way which ever one you get you will win :)
