All the hype about leichardti got me wanting to go fishing for them.
I planned on going for a few days..but unfortunately the fishing was very bad. The lake had 'rolled' over. Meaning that the water from the bottom of the lake was now at the top....and the water at the top was now at the bottom. This causes death and fish to go off the bite. It was also one of the worst seasons fishermen had experienced in a while.
I did however get some shots of the kind of environment that they exist in. Also in this lake are Australian Lungfish, Murray Cod, Yellow Belly, Australian Bass, Eel Tailed Catfish and Silver Perch.
I didn't catch any leichardti but I could see them swimming together on the surface...It was a beautiful site and was well worth the trip...hopefully next time I can pull one in.
