Yep its Borumba.

We used spinnerbaits and poppers to target the toga.

Also used live shrimp.

You know the fishings tough when the saratogas refuse spinnerbaits. The dams of Queensland have had it tough with the drought.

I was going to suggest you give Cania a go, but I think its just as bad (if not worse) there at the moment. A report from a fellow angler who was up there last month said he only caught 3 in 2 days of fishing. Normally, its not too unusual to catch 15 - 20 a day.

Maybe you could give those giant barra in Awoonga and Peter Faust a go? Or go further north for jardinis, whose habitat has not been so affected by the drought?

I'm not really into the freshwater side of things much. Mainly into the offshore stuff.

I'll check those place out though.

I already have one big guy.

Plus it was a 3+ hour drive home with a wild fish.

Yes. You must release them if caught. They are a protected specie.
