Never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

they are native to australia. get to between 8 and 12 inches. also called spangled grunters. cant find anything about first hand experiences. they are pretty cool looking fish. happily eating bloodworm and mysis. ill get some pics when I can

Very Coooool Indeed :)

I love spangles! They're known to be extremely hardy they can tolerate water temperatures from 5° to 44°C, salinities ranging from pure fresh water to seawater and pH from 4.0 to 8.6! And only growing to 25cm and 500g they're an easy and beautiful fish to keep. But it's best to have a few because thhey are a schooling fish. I'm not too sure you would find them in england easily though.

That is nice,I wouldn't mind having a few of them

Sorry i didnt post a pic yet, but jim saved the day! They are cool looking, but the very devil to photograph! They are very skittish unlesss they are eating, and its difficult to feed and camera at the same time! I have read though that they are that way till they get to around 4 inch and then they get real bold, which im looking forward to. Hopefully they will grow soon so they can move to the big tank :)
