He had a stringy white poop which made me think internal parasite other than that he was totally fine...then for the last two days he has been lethargic eats well but isn't as active as normal and verrrry dark in colour

They are a riot, and have very picky taste. GEEZ!! and i thought my girlfriend was high maintenance... i've been up to my neck in problems with these guys. but i wouldn't have it any other way...

me too i have the same problem very dark in color. i was told to raise the temperature in the tank. but no dice. they also told me to try aquarium salt, which i already had in the tank. i figured id be better off just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. water conditions are immaculate, dont know what else to try.

But why does every fish store i go to tell me its a bad idea. What are some of the pro and cons? i wanna hear from people who are for and against it. I cant make up my mind. make it up for me ppl. I wanna hear from all my fellow aquariminians or aquariumites..(:

I wish I had some EBJD's they are amazing fish!

I've wanted one for so long but have never had the proper tank space as I want to make sure he's in something close to a 125g.
did you say you wanted one or ten. Jesus Mary and Joseph mister why do you need a 125g tank for one EBJD. i mean we all want our fish to have enough room. but keep in mind, these fish are very shy and spend most of there time hiding. youd wouldnt want people playing wheres Waldo with your fishie. or maybe you would that kinda sound like it could be fun (;

mine are picky eaters i decided to try pellets tonight they each took one in their mouth and immediately spit it out...they will only take frozen blood worms

In my case i dont think its the food. i started feeding them Hakari Bio-gold since day one, and they used to eat it up quick. I havent seen the white stringy poop attached to them in the past couple days. so im hoping that they have recoverd and will start eating in the next couple of days. if not, maybe bloodworm is another option. id like to stick with the Hakari because I think overall its the most cpmplete diet for any cichlid.
