U.K.
took out the mouth brooder as he was being shoved and bowled over time and again, hes up for rehoming, now the lemon-fins are constantly chasing, the bigger one is swimming at and attcking the smaller one on sight :( im so peed off with this damn tank, its been nothing but trouble since day 1, wish i hadnt brought it!

i dont think they actually can bite, they dont have big mouths, they are more chasing and shoving into each other, with a swift 'head butt' if the big one catches the small one. they are 13 and 15 inches approx, so its quite a thud!

don't worry about it. let them do their thing. my two huge ones did that all the time. they should be able to handle it. they are tough fish.

as long when you feed them, they both stop and eat. make sure the lesser fish are getting lots of food and you should be fine.

they chase but don't do any damage to each other..

it should settle out a bit with time.

I agree. Just watch it closely.

ok,i just fed them a minute ago and they did stop to eat, in fact my smaller one usually eats more than the bigger one, she definately makes a bigger splash about it! would it help to add a school of dither fish of some sort then or just leave it as the pair of lemons? im considering a pair of 6-7 inch albino red tail tinfoils ive found for sale, but am unsure if these 2 will continue to act up. oh and is there any way of telling them apart sex wise? they are slightly different shades, the larger one has a bronzed look to its silver scales sometimes and is slightly deeper in body. just wondering. 12 volt man i do seem to be aiming all my questions at you lol, its purely due to me knowing you have owned these beasts lol! thanks for putting my mind to rest.

I personally wouldnt get any dither fish because you dont want to add anymore bio load that you already have. On the other hand if you get a fish that doesnt get too big and is fast and is big enough to be able to manuver all of the lemon fins attacks i guess youll be fine

well i have the 2 lemon-fins and 1 5 inch rainbow shark in 180 (6x2x2) gallon tank. not sure what room i have for any other fish.
