My local fish store has 2 lemon Oscars in stock. I love them and want one bad. Unfortunately right now I only have a 29 gallon that's already pretty stocked. It has one EBJD, several clown loaches, most pretty small, one big guy, and some angel fish. August 10th ish I'm moving and allready have plans of a 55 or bigger. I want to move the ebjd over, and the clown loaches. I'll leave the angels in the 29 until they get a little bigger then get a 56 column for them. My question is, I'm scared to wait that long to get the lemon Oscars because i know they are kind of rare. Would it be okay in my tank until I move and can get a bigger tank? I stay on top of my water changes, and test the water at least every other day.

My other questions are is the lemon oscar exactly like the other oscars in size, temperment etc., do they grow at a different rate? I had a tiger oscar from 1 inch to around 10 inches, and he grew fast. Thanks for all the help

how big is the EBJD and lemon oscar ?

yeah they should be fine but if the Oscar start picking on the EBJD then move him.

lemon osacrs are still just oscars, same size, temper etc, thought here is a possibility they will peel out and turn out to be albino reds.
and I'd recomend a 75g+ for one oscar and 120g min for an oscar com tank

I think I'm going to try it. If it doesn't work, i have and extra light, heater, and filter, I could get a 20 long for 20 bucks from pet co until the 17th To put him in until I can get a 55 or 75 for him.

It should work, just don't wait to long to upgrade. Go get him. They are just the same as any regular oscar. I have read they are a bit less aggressive, true or not I don't know. I know mine was not aggressive at all. But they get just as big and need the same care and a big tank.

I'm going to get one either Saturday or Sunday what does everyone feel is a good price? and is there any way to ensure it's a true lemon oscar and not died?
