Lemon oscar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
1)You should wait until you upgrade before getting the oscar.

2)EBJD's have a ridiculously slow growth rate, while oscars are known to be very fast growers. It will probably take a few months before you come home to a fat oscar and an invisible EBJD.

The fast growth rate is what has me worried. Normally I would have the bigger tank before getting the fish, but since I move in a month I won't get one untill then. I have the money set aside ready to go. And if i was just wanting a tiger oscar or something I'd wait. But from what I can tell their pretty rare. They want 18 dollars each which from what I can tell is a good price too. I made an offer on a 30 gallon tank and find out in the morning if he's accepting it. I'm going to go ahead and pick him up, and put him into the 29 I have now, but automatically start looking for another small tank to get him into untill I move and can get a 75 or preferably 125 set up. I also have a kiddie pool and pond filter I could set up with a heater in my house temporarily if worst came to worst. I'm really excited about this guy, and can't wait to get him. I also will take the chance, If things start to go badly I'll either take him back and take the hit financially or find him a good home. I think it's worth the gamble for a month. I actually move into my new place July 30th, so I can have a tank set up immediatly after that. Not too long to wait.

If you really want it, I'd just buy it. Don't wait, because then if you wait, maybe they'll have sold them and you'll regret it. Anyway, Just find a temporary place to put him. If he's still small it's not like he's gonna double in size right away. Do what you feel is best
